The Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is a mid-to high-altitude Himalayan region in the Garhwal Himalayas, covering an area of 958 sq. km. The Har-ki-dun trek to the base of the Jaundhar glacier is one of the most spectacular treks at this altitude in the Western Himalayas. It is expected that the area should have in the region of 250 species of birds and is listed as an Important Bird Area.
